Terengganu MB to lead sahur ride

KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said will lead about 200 teenagers and members of the public on a "sahur" cycling trip late tomorrow night to spread Ramadan goodwill and usher in the country's Independence celebration.
Saiful Bahri Baharuddin, chairman of Kelab Remaja Terengganu, the organiser
of the event called "Kayuhan Singgah Sahur Ambang Merdeka", said Ahmad and the
group would be cycling around this waterfront city for a distance of about 20
He said they would start from the Batu Buruk beach and pass by Primula
Hotel, Taman Shahbandar, Pasar Kedai Payang, Kampung Cina, Pulau Kambing, Jalan
Hiliran and back through Jalan Gong Kapas and ending the trip at the MB's
residence, Seri Iman, in Jalan Sultan Mahmud, here.
"While on the cycling trip, the MB and group will stop at some public places
to distribute food for "sahur' (pre-dawn meal during fasting month) and the
Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) in conjunction with this year's Merdeka
celebration," he told a news conference, here, today.
Saiful Bahri said the night cycling event which had received good response
from among the young would be continued from time to time. -- Bernama
